The Divisional Playoff Saturday night game would be remembered by the San Francisco 49ers‘ players, their fans, and of course, the head coach Kyle Shanahan. The 49ers were on the verge of choking again but somehow managed to clinch the spot in the NFC Championship game.

After producing a surprise for the NFL World by beating the Dallas Cowboys last week, the Green Bay Packers almost produced another upset. They were on the verge of beating the 49ers in the Divisional Playoff Round. The Niners trailed by ten points after three quarters, but in the end, they ended up winning the game by the slightest of margins.

Nonetheless, the game triggered the worst fear among the Niners fans and the head coach. Shanahan, in his tenure with the San Fran team, had never won a game while trailing by more than five points going into the fourth quarter. He had a 0-30 record till the game against the Packers.

However, the head coach finally broke the curse as the 49ers had a great comeback drive. The 49ers secured nine points, and the defense came into play as they restricted the Packers. The MVP frontrunner Brock Purdy covered 252 yards with one touchdown.

Though he had a clean game with zero interceptions his passing completion rate was very low (59%). 2022’s Mr. Irrelevant would get a chance to rectify himself in the NFC Championship game.

The dream run of the Green Bay Packers comes to an end

The Green Bay Packers would lament the opportunity that they lost against the 49ers. They were too close to the NFC Championship game. Nonetheless, a great comeback drive by the 49ers in the last quarter finished their dream.

At the beginning of the season, people disapproved of the Packers doing something good. Nonetheless, the Packers turned the table upside down with the performance of Jordan Love.

A quarterback who had his first regular season in the Packers’ colors, Love produced a stellar game against the Cowboys in the Wild Card game. His efforts were there against the 49ers as well, but his two untimely interceptions ruined it.

However, on the positive side, Love has won the hearts of millions of Packers fans. It is to be seen what he produces in the coming seasons.
