The deadline for the trade window for the current 2022/23 season has finally come to a close, and boy was it a treat for the fans. However, the chance for teams to sign free agents is still a big possibility and Odell Beckham Jr is one name that is on top of the charts for the NFL franchises.

The San Francisco 49ers are one of the franchises that might be interested in acquiring the services of OBJ, especially after Kyle Shanahan sang praises for the veteran. The 49ers currently have Deebo Samuel and Brandon Aiyuk as the high-profile receivers within their group and OBJ could easily fit into the roster.

Odell Beckham Jr is one of the biggest free agents in the market and one of the best too in his position. The 33-year-old wide receiver proved his credentials by helping the Los Angeles Rams win the Super Bowl title last season.

However, Odell Beckham Jr suffered a knee injury during the Rams’ titular clash against the Cincinnati Bengals and that has kept him out of the action ever since. He is currently undergoing rehabilitation and is scheduled to return to full fitness in mid-November.

ESPN reporter Adam Schefter first dropped the bomb of the 49ers possibly going in for Odell Beckham Jr during his latest appearance on the Pat McAfee show. Kyle Shanahan, too, was quizzed on the topic and he candidly spoke of his love for Odell.

“We’re open to discussions with everybody. We look into everything,” Shanahan said on KNBR 680’s “Murph & Mac Show.” “You don’t have to worry about the trade deadline with him because he’s out there and he’s available. I’ve always been a fan of Odell, like I feel like most people are. He’s that good of a player.“

However, Kyle Shanahan also claimed that he is pretty happy with the current resources the 49ers have in the wide receiving position. Shanahan said, “But I’m definitely very happy with our receiver group right now and love the receivers that we have.”
