Brock Purdy must’ve been on Santa’s naughty list this year, as this Christmas went far from the way he had anticipated it to. The quarterback for the San Francisco 49ers had his worst game of the season as he threw away the game and most likely the MVP award in his team’s 33-19 loss to the Baltimore Ravens. Purdy had 4 interceptions and his HC Kyle Shanahan has had enough of being reminded of his QB’s terrible performance.

Kyle Shanahan made it clear to reporters on Friday that he will no longer be talking about Brock Purdy’s bad game.

Yeah, he was great...no offense to you, but I'm so exhausted talking about the interceptions from our last game, but it's been like any other week and like any other play. He goes through each play one at a time and tries to do as best he can.

Brock Purdy’s bad game is confirmation that in the NFL, when a player has a great game, fans and analysts are quick to dismiss or overlook it within a span of two to three days. However, God forbid a player has a bad game. It suddenly becomes a reflection of their true self and overrides everything else they may have accomplished in the same season.

Brock Purdy’s bad game resulted in him dropping by 4 spots in the MVP race

Kyle Shanahan was asked about Brock Purdy’s professionalism after he addressed reporters even after having the worst game of the season. Praising his QB, Shanahan said,

He's not at all defensive and he's very open about what happened and the mistakes he made.

He spoke highly of his character and further stated,

He says what he thinks, I say what I think. He's a very humble guy but extremely competitive. That's just Brock...he's always going to take responsibility...he always looks inward first and he genuinely feels that way."

The Head Coach stated Purdy at times is “too hard on himself” because “he always looks at what he can do better.” This week, the San Francisco 49ers will look to mount a massive comeback as they face the Washington Commanders. Brock Purdy will look to make a statement with his performance in this game.
