Kyler Murray has not been able to prove his massive price tag after signing a new $230 million contract last season. The young QB suffered an ACL injury in December and has been out of action since then. With many fans awaiting his return, it is believed that the QB won’t play in the NFL this year as well. Amidst these conditions, the Arizona Cardinals QB has been counted out by many analysts and enthusiasts.
A recent QB tier list by CBS Sports has put Kyler Murray in 6th tier where he was dead last. The Arizona Cardinals QB was drafted No.1 overall in the 2019 and the fans had massive expectations from him. However, consistent sub-par performances have landed him in the 6th tier. Still the QB had an amazing 3-word response to the criticism and took it really well.
“I love it,” Kyler Murray stated in reply to the CBS Sports QB tier list. Murray was ranked alongside QBs like Jordan Love and Baker Mayfield. The only QBs below him were the recently drafted C.J. Stroud, Bryce Young and Anthony Richardson who haven’t played a single professional game in the NFL yet. There are many doubts about Murray’s capability as a franchise QB. Interestingly, his recent injury is also not helping his cause. However, the 25-year-old will look to bounce back as soon as he is fit.

Kyler Murray will hope to bounce back next season

The Cardinals have put their entire faith in Kyler Murray’s ability by providing him with a massive $230 million contract. Sadly, the QB hasn’t been able to live up to his price tag yet. Additionally, his form has also faltered a lot since last season. It is expected that Murray won’t be able to start the season for the Cardinals. However, he will surely bounce back after making a swift recovery.
Till then, the QB duties will be handled by Colt McCoy who started three games last season. McCoy was a third-round pick by the Cleveland Browns in 2010 and has been a backup QB since then.
With massive expectations, Kyler Murray will surely have to adapt and improve his game when he takes the stage next season. The Cardinals have a lot riding on their starting QB and will expect results soon.
