The Arizona Cardinals have had a bad season. Period. The team went into its final game of the season against the Seattle Seahawks with a record of 4-12.

The team has had to play without its franchise quarterback Kyler Murray for a significant part of the season as he was recovering from his ACL injury. He came back towards the end of the season and played in the last 5 games of the season, heading into Week 18.

The Cardinals have gone 2-3 since Kyler Murray returned to action. Despite the team’s shaky performance with him back in rotation, the Arizona Cardinals are not giving up on him as the team’s franchise QB. Ian Rapoport has stated that the team is all in on Murray.

Jonathan Gannon coming out and saying he had no doubt that Kyler Murray was his franchise QB…My understanding is the organization is in fact behind this, they are moving forward with Kyler Murray as their starting quarterback which does allows them to build around him in the draft and also limiting some uncertainty…

Kyler Murray will remain the Cardinals’ franchise quarterback for the foreseeable future

There were a lot of questions surrounding Kyler Murray’s future with the Arizona Cardinals after his injury. The team went with Joshua Dobbs and Clayton Tune as the QBs for most of the season, but they were always meant to be backups until Murray came back. Head Coach Jonathan Gannon has made himself clear on multiple occasions that Murray will remain the team’s QB1.

It comes as no surprise. After all, the team signed Murray to a five-year contract that locks him in through the 2028 season. Murray’s contract is worth $230.5 million, with $159 million of it guaranteed.

In the offseason, the primary focus of the Arizona Cardinals will be to add wide receivers and solidify the team’s defense. Murray has Michael Wilson, Rondale Moore, and Greg Dortch as his wideouts this season. The team is in dire need of wideouts for Murray to throw to. While this season is a lost cause, the team will look to rebuild and come back stronger next year.
