Netflix’s new Quarterback Series was a hit amongst fans of the NFL. The series has eight episodes that give fans an in-depth look into the behind-the-scenes of what it takes to be a successful floor general in the NFL. It follows Patrick Mahomes of the Kansas City Chiefs, Kirk Cousins of the Minnesota Vikings, and Marcus Mariota of the Atlanta Falcons.
The series has officially been renewed for the Second season and it is produced in collaboration between NFL Films and Omaha Productions, which is Peyton Manning‘s production house. The former QB for the Indianapolis Colts and Denver Broncos was the brains behind the series. However, while the Quarterback Series did thrive and bring in positive reviews from fans across the board, there was one thing odd about it.
The choice of quarterbacks who were featured apart from Patrick Mahomes were rather bizarre. While it comes as no surprise that the QB for the Chiefs would be the first option for the series, Marcus Mariota and Kirk Cousins were rather unusual options to be featured alongside him. Peyton Manning intends to change that with the QBs he decides to feature on Season 2 of the show, however, he will not be getting all the playmakers he wants as Dak Prescott and Lamar Jackson have both denied the opportunity to be featured in the documentary.

Lamar Jackson intends to just focus on playing football at the moment
As per Jeff Zrebiec, Lamar Jackson did not want any part of the new Netflix Series as he deemed it to be a distraction from his job. Lamar Jackson was “appreciative” of the offer but at that moment, the quarterback has his mind on just one thing, that is playing football to the best of his abilities.
This does not come as that big of a surprise as Lamar Jackson just signed a massive contract with the Baltimore Ravens, he now has Odell Beckham Jr. in his corner, and this is a pivotal year for him as he will need to prove to fans and the organization that he is worth the money.
Lamar Jackson is not the first quarterback to decline Peyton Manning’s offer, the QB for the Dallas Cowboys, Dak Prescott turned down the offer and stated that he, as well as his team, gets enough media coverage and that he does not crave any more attention. Who will Peyton Manning feature in the second season of the Quarterback Series? It is something that fans will need to wait and watch.
