“Something is fishy” – NFL Twitter proposes WILD conspiracy theories against Lamar Jackson as NO team shows interest in him after the Ravens refused to pay him
As per a report from Jeremy Fowler, no team in the NFL is interested in making an offer to trade for Lamar Jackson which is a bit surprising for NFL fans.

Lamar Jackson remains the most significant story this offseason in the NFL. The quarterback for the Baltimore Ravens has had one of the longest ongoing contract negotiations fans have seen in a while. It has been over a year since the Baltimore Ravens and Lamar began their talks to extend their franchise quarterback but to date, they have not been able to reach any conclusion or meet on any middle ground.
However, Baltimore wants him there which is why despite not being able to sign an extension with him, they hit Lamar with the non-exclusive franchise tag which allows him to talk to other teams and negotiate with them, it also gives the Ravens the opportunity to match any offer he gets from other teams. In the event they opt to trade him, they will receive two first-round picks in exchange for him. Here’s the problem, Baltimore has scouted the situation across the league fairly well and as of today, no team wants to orchestrate any trades for him which is odd.

Most teams in dire need of a quarterback are relying upon the NFL draft and would rather risk picking a rookie quarterback than Lamar. While this does seem odd, ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler breaks it down pretty well. “I talked to multiple teams who predict that no team will make an offer, as crazy as it sounds,” was what the analyst had to say. While trading for Lamar may seem to be a decision that certain teams that lack a proper quarterback should not even be thinking twice about, here is why they are not completely convinced with the dual-threat QB.

Other NFL teams have not pursued Lamar Jackson despite being a franchise player:

Lamar Jackson is a unique player. He is one of the few quarterbacks in the NFL who can run the ball better than he can throw it, which makes him a pure dual-threat quarterback. While the league does have QBs who can run the ball, there is nobody who is nearly as good as LJ when it comes to doing it. Baltimore has built its entire offense around him and his game. Their offensive strategies prioritize utilizing and making the most of his strengths and the remainder of the pieces in the puzzle or their roster complement his style of play.
Now, if you are another NFL team who is looking at Lamar and considering trading for him, this would discourage you. Firstly, he is in a system that is solely constructed around him as he is the centerpiece, and the traditional NFL team relies on the quarterback to throw the ball more often than to run it. Getting Lamar on your roster would mean the team would have to make other changes and build the team around him. That is a lot of work and not an easy task. In addition to that, the QB wants to be paid big money, in the ballpark of $200+ million.
So, now not only are you paying your QB Deshaun Watson a kind of money but also have to make major changes to the entire team around him in order to see any positive results. Fans, however, are of the opinion that Lamar is being underestimated, and cannot fathom how a QB of his caliber is having to go through a situation such as this, take a look at their reactions.
Hopefully, that works out, but right now, the end does not seem to be in sight.
It’s insane to see Lamar not get the bag considering the kind of QB contracts that have been floated across the NFL in the past year.
In a way, this argument does make sense. The QB market in the NFL is beginning to get inflated, particularly after Patrick Mahomes got his massive deal. Are the Ravens attempting to draw the line in the sand here and driving a hard bargain to ensure they do not end up overpaying for a QB who has an injury history?
This is the mind-boggling aspect of it. Teams would typically kill while trading for a player of his talents, especially when they have this little to lose. Is there something that fans do not know?
Should Lamar get a professional agent to negotiate on his behalf?
The Texans should be the front-runners on this deal. However, from a business perspective, the team would rather risk it in the NFL Draft than take a chance on Lamar.
The Deshaun Watson deal really changed the QB market…
Lamar Jackson deserves to get paid. The man is indeed a generational talent. While his game may be different and unique, fans have witnessed what he is capable of. It does appear bizarre on the face of things that a QB of his skillset is struggling to get a long-term extension.
