Just when everyone thought Lamar Jackson’s situation in Baltimore is cooling down after the Ravens added a new elite pass catcher, the former Pro Bowl QB has now stirred up the pot again by posting a cryptic message on social media.
At the behest of Lamar Jackson, the Baltimore Ravens went out and signed the free agent wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. on a massive one-year deal worth up to $18 million, with $15 million fully guaranteed. Jackson allegedly wanted the Ravens to acquire both Odell and the Arizona Cardinals‘ star wideout DeAndre Hopkins, but since the Ravens couldn’t afford both, they settled for Beckham Jr.
Nevertheless, since Lamar got what he demanded, he would stay with the team and play under the non-exclusive franchise tag. But now, the former league MVP QB has shared an absurd message on social media.
Lamar Jackson shared a post in his Instagram story which stated, “Go ahead and take a break from socializing while you’re working on yourself, your career, and your life. You’re not missing out on anything; it will all be there when you’re done.”
In addition, he also shared another story which stated, “People be moving so foul but expect you to keep showing love.” It looks like the 2-time Pro Bowl QB is expressing his frustrations with the Baltimore-based football team.
Odell Beckham Jr. didn’t get any assurance that Lamar Jackson will stay with the Ravens
When the former Los Angeles Rams wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. signed with the Ravens last week, many people thought he would’ve only signed with them if he knew Lamar Jackson would stay with the franchise.
However, during his introductory press conference on Thursday, the 3-time Pro Bowl wideout revealed that he didn’t get any assurance from the front office that Lamar would be the Ravens QB in 2023 but he is excited about the possibility of catching passes from Jackson.
“I didn’t get any assurances for everything,” Beckham told reporters. “Life’s uncertain. We don’t know what’s going to happen tomorrow [or] the next day. … I’m just excited of the possibility of that. My thoughts would be that [Jackson] would be here.”
For the first time in his career, Lamar Jackson has an opportunity to throw the football to an elite pass catcher. This new addition by the Ravens might play a crucial role in Lamar Jackson‘s decision about playing for the Ravens in the 2023 season.
