The Colorado Buffaloes are the story in all of football. The program won only one game last year and was in shambles, until December 2022. The Buffs hired Pro Football Hall of Famer Deion Sanders as the team’s new head coach in December last year. The team immediately garnered a lot of attention following the big-name signing. Sanders transformed the program with a host of roster changes prior to the 2023 college football season.

In their first game of the season, the Buffs defeated the heavily favored TCU and made a statement. They won their next two games and the entire sports world had their eyes on the Buffs and their head coach Sanders. Although the team lost against the Oregon Ducks last Saturday, the Buffs are now a force to be reckoned with. The team’s recent success and the preseason hype surrounding them led to a lot of other celebrities attending the Buffaloes games this season.

Sanders praised Van Voorhis saying, “I’m happy for her. First of all, I’m concerned about her safety. I want to make sure she’s safe, But I’m sure if she put on the pads, she understands what goes along with that. I believe in equality not just of ethnicity, but gender as well. So I’m all for it. God bless her.”

Van Voorhis registered a quarterback hurry as she became the eighth woman to play in the NCAA. She is also a member of the University’s track and field team. She spent two years playing for the JV team at the university and was an All-State honorable mention in high school.
