On the latest episode of ‘Speak’ on FOX Sports, former running back turned analyst LeSean McCoy completely dismissed Joe Burrow being anywhere close to Super Bowl LVII MVP Patrick Mahomes. McCoy said that Mahomes is a lot better than Burrow and the notion of the Bengals quarterback catching up to him is laughable.
The 2x Super Bowl champion said, “Joe Burrow is playing very well right now. Let’s leave it at that. I mean, it’s like so much room from him and Mahomes. Joe is nice, obviously, we see them get busy but they ain’t on Patrick Mahomes’ level.”
“Pat and em, they win games and they win championships. Yeah I mean but I get it somebody’s second best I get that but let’s just be respectful… Championship and MVPs is what I like to talk about and until you get one of those, you ain’t coming for me,” concluded McCoy.
LeSean McCoy was extremely irked when his co-host Will Blackmon suggested that Joe Burrow will eventually catch up to him and that he is 3-1 against Patrick Mahomes. However, McCoy said that he judges them in terms of MVPs and Super Bowl champions which Mahomes has in plenty in comparison to Burrow.
Joe Burrow admitted Patrick Mahomes is the best QB in the league right now
During an interview last Tuesday, Joe Burrow himself said that Patrick Mahomes is the best quarterback in the NFL. The Bengals superstar said, “I don’t think there’s any argument right now. It’s Pat until somebody has a better year than he’s had. He’s the one to knock off.”
Joe Burrow is 3-1 against Mahomes until now and it looks like the Chiefs-Bengals rivalry will be the next big thing in the league. The former first overall pick has the ability to elevate the players around him similar to 7x Super Bowl champion Tom Brady.
There is no doubt that the Cincinnati Bengals will be Super Bowl contenders with Burrow under the center. However, for Joe Cool to be crowned the best signal-caller in the league, he has to deliver the Bengals their first-ever Lombardi Trophy.
