Aaron Donald was one of the cornerstones of the LA Rams Super Bowl victory two seasons ago. The defensive tackle is one of the best in his game and is still going strong while reaching the age of 32.
There’s no denying that Donald is the greatest defensive player in the NFL. However, there are still many who don’t appreciate his quality and skill during the game.
Last season wasn’t kind to Donald, as he suffered a severe ankle injury and wasn’t seen for the remainder of the season. However, now that the Rams DT is back, he is looking to bounce back stronger than ever. Former NFL player LeSean McCoy spoke about the same when he featured “Speak by FS1′. McCoy gladly believes that Aaron Donald is the greatest defensive player of all time.
The former Philadelphia Eagles RB then went on to speak about his accomplishments on the field and that alone makes him the greatest of all time. Donald has won 9 Pro Bowls and has been included in 7 All-pros since he was drafted by the Rams in 2014.
McCoy also compared Aaron Donald to legends of the past including Lawrence Taylor and Bruce Smith. However, he still believes that the Rams superstar is a cut above the rest and flying in his own lane of greatness currently.

Aaron Donald was excused from mandatory minicamp

Rams HC Sean McVay recently excused Aaron Donald from the mandatory minicamp due to his injury woes. The 32-year-old DT has just come back from his ankle injury, and progress has been slow for him.
However, the reason McVay gave for Donald’s absence from the minicamp was completely different. The Rams HC cited ‘family stuff’ when explaining the Pro Bowler’s absence.
Interestingly, there are strong reports suggesting that Aaron Donald could bid farewell to the game completely and retire at just 32 years old. His recent injury has speculatively taken a toll on his physical health as the DT flirts with retirement.
Nonetheless, nothing is confirmed now, and Aaron Donald is still on a massive $95 million contract for three years, making him the highest-paid defensive player ever. If he wishes to retire this year, he will surely go down as one of the greatest, if not the best, defensive players in the NFL.
