Brock Purdy has had a pioneering season so far. By breaking multiple records for the 49ers, he has earned the MVP frontrunning position for himself. The quarterback has also helped his team to earn the No.1 seed for the San Francisco 49ers in their conference. With all these, the 49ers have decided to keep him on the bench in the last game of the season. It will help him to get a much-needed rest ahead of the clash in the postseason.
Apart from breaking records, Purdy has also done something phenomenal. He has become successful in bringing the most loyalists of other quarterbacks into his fold. The latest example is LeSean McCoy.
The staunch loyalist of the Philadelphia Eagles and Jalen Hurts has become a fan of Brock Purdy; so much so that he chose Purdy over his favorite Hurts in a recent argument. Shady McCoy has put his bet over Purdy as the safest and the most trustworthy quarterback in the NFC.
Here is what LeSean McCoy had to say on Speak on FS1:
It is gonna be Brock Purdy for me... Brock Purdy, we have seen him playing against the top teams. He did have a bad game at Christmas. But overall, he does not seem to play like that. I think he is the safest. He calls the play well for him and the weapons he is surrounded by, they work in a system. So I am gonna give it to Brock Purdy.LeSean McCoy on Speak
LeSean McCoy chose Brock Purdy over Dak Prescott and Jalen Hurts
The NFC boasts four quarterbacks who have done pretty well for their teams. Dak Prescott, Jalen Hurts, Brock Purdy, and Jared Goff.
For the first time in a while, Dak Prescott’s name has been included in the MVP discussion. He has played exceptionally this season. Nonetheless, McCoy does not think that Prescott deserves to be the most trustworthy. He hinted that Prescott had a consistency problem and failed to provide against the top teams. That was the sole reason behind leaving Prescott behind.
Prescott is also an MVP frontrunner this year. He has bagged the most number of touchdowns with a very low number of interceptions and turnovers. He is presently leading the quarterbacks’ chart in terms of touchdowns.
