Step aside Tom Brady, as there’s a new star in town called Lionel Messi. As per several reports, the soccer star has obliterated past records since his move to MLS side Inter Miami last month. His jersey alone can confirm how crazed the fans are about the GOAT coming to play in the USA. According to American sportswear retail juggernauts, Fanatics Messi’s No. 10 Miami jersey outsold Brady’s when he became a Buccaneer in 2020.
Inter Miami’s managing owner, Jorge Mas, confirmed on CNBC’s “Halftime Report” on July 18 that the former Barcelona star’s jersey was sold out like hotcakes. A Fanatics insider claimed this was a new experience for them. “That is unheard of for an MLS team,” they revealed. According to their reports, the 36-year-old caused a 50% spike in sales for Fanatics merchandise before the Argentine even set foot in the US. Inter Miami jerseys topped Fanatics charts from July 17 to 20.
Adidas’ North America president, Rupert Campbell, claimed they had to open a pop-up store in the middle of Miami so that they could fulfil the alarming rate of demand. “Jerseys are selling out at stores in minutes,” Campbell revealed in a press conference. The craze does not stop there, as another online retailer, Soccer.com, claimed that it sold half a year’s worth of Messi-10 jerseys in a matter of days. It seems like fans want to get their hands on the World Cup winner’s shirt from anywhere they can.
It seems Cristiano Ronaldo‘s words about the Saudi Pro League becoming the next big thing over the MLS, for now, look farfetched.
How to buy Lionel Messi’s No. 10 Inter Miami jersey?
As Lionel Messi makes headlines for scoring his fifth goal for Inter Miami against Orland City SC in a preseason friendly, his jersey sales are making waves online. Most would be wondering where and how to order one. Potential buyers just need to head over to Fanatics.com or the nearest Adidas store in the USA to either buy or pre-order.

Tor Southard, senior director of Adidas Soccer, told ESPN,” Every single fan who wants a jersey should be able to get [one] whether it’s online or at one of our stores.”
Messi’s No. 10 jersey could cost a buyer anywhere from $120 to $160 before delivery charges. However, MLS‘s official online store issued a statement saying that the kits may not arrive until October.
