The Detroit Lions, led by their star quarterback Jared Goff, are currently preparing for their much-anticipated game against the San Francisco 49ers in their NFC championship game for the right to play in the Super Bowl game. The Lions have actually surprised many people by making it this far in the season, but one fan saw this coming even before the season started.
A diehard Detroit fan named Alex Chepeska had a feeling his team was going to be contenders this season. As a result, Chepeska got a permanent tattoo with the Lions team logo in front of the Lombardi Trophy with the words “Super Bowl Champs 2024.”
The 43-year-old got the tattoo inked on his left arm back in August, many many months before the Lions won the first-ever NFC North title in the franchise’s history. In a recent interview with PEOPLE, Chepeska opened up about what led him to get a permanent tattoo that could go so wrong.
I don't know, I just had a feeling. ve never been so sure of something. I just knew they were going to go all the way, and I knew I had to get a tattoo of it before the season started. So I got it in August, a week before their first pre-season game.Alex Chepeska said via PEOPLE
Furthermore, the Detroit native went on to reveal that he got called ‘stupid’ and other names for getting the permanent tattoo in hopes of the Lions winning the Super Bowl. Besides, some people also believed Chepeska could jinx them with his actions. But, he doesn’t believe he has jinxed the Lions’ season since they are having their best campaign in years.
Alex Chepseka has a backup plan if the Lions fail to win the Super Bowl
The diehard Lions fan, who got a Super Bowl 2024 champions tattoo didn’t just put a permanent ink on his arm with blind trust on his team. Alex Chepeska has a backup plan if the Lions fail to lift the Lombardi Trophy.
If it happens, I'll just cross out 2024 and change it to 2025.Alex Chepeska said
But he is fairly confident his team can pull it off in this season. Chepeska is hoping to make it to Vegas to witness the Lions playing in the Super Bowl game for the first time in the franchise’s history.
But before that, the Lions have to defeat the NFC’s No.1 seed San Francisco 49ers in a tough road game this weekend. Jared Goff and the Detroit-based football team have to play perfect football to defeat the Niners on the road.
