Justin Fields had a lukewarm start to his career in the NFL. The prolific QB had a great career in college but wasn’t able to replicate it in his first year as a starter for the Chicago Bears.
Fields was drafted by the Bears as their franchise QB for several years to come. By the end of the last NFL season, the 24-year-old QB started showing glimpses of greatness in his game. The young QB surely has a great fighting spirit, however, his skill needs considerable improvement.
Bears offensive coordinator Luke Getsy was heavily impressed with the improvements Fields has shown in this offseason training camp. According to him, the young QB has made strides in his game and will keep going onwards.
“Where he was at this time last year to where he is now, I think he’s just light-years ahead of where he was,” offensive coordinator Luke Getsy stated via the Chicago Tribune. “And I feel like he has a ton more to grow going forward. So we’re excited to try to get the best out of him moving forward and keep working toward where we think he can go.”
Justin Fields has sort of found the strengths of his game according to his performance last season. His rushing game has improved considerably. The Bears QB rushed for over 1000 yards in his 4th consecutive season and kept the team in many games.
However, the Bears season didn’t reflect the strides Fields has made in his game. The Chicago based team ended their season with a miserable 3-14 record and will look to improve on it next season.
The Chicago Bears NFL draft picks will add reinforcements to Justin Fields
Justin Fields alone can’t win the Bears major games and the management recognizes that. The team has drafted several young talents in the 2023 NFL draft that will prove to be healthy reinforcements to the squad.
OT Darnell Wright from the University of Tennessee will prove instrumental for the Bears to provide support for their star QB. Along with him, the team has also trade for established WR D. J. Moore to provide a helping hand to the 24-year-old QB.
The Chicago Bears are in a competitive division and will have a good fighting chance after the departure of Aaron Rodgers from the Green Bay Packers. The NFC North is wide open and anyone can claim it as theirs. The Bears can certainly turn out to be the favorites and qualify for the playoffs after a long time.
