The San Francisco 49ers running back Christian McCaffrey‘s younger brother, Luke McCaffrey, is rising on the draft boards of many teams following his impressive outings at the 2024 NFL Combine. Luke recently broke his brother’s 40-yard dash time and impressed a lot of people.
The Rice Owls’ star wide receiver, Luke McCaffrey, participated in the on-field drills at the NFL Combine and performed at a high level. In the 40-yard dash event, Luke ran an impressive 4.47, marginally defeating his older brother and one of the top running backs in the league, Christian McCaffrey. The Niners running back ran a 4.48 during the 2017 Combine.

The 49ers’ All-Pro running back Christian quickly congratulated his brother via his X profile. Following Luke’s impressive performance at the Combine, his draft stock has been rising. He is reportedly on the radar of the San Francisco 49ers, who could add some speed to their offense.
Luke McCaffrey comes from a family of great athletes. His dad, Ed McCaffrey, used to be a wide receiver in the league for more than 13 years and won 3 Super Bowl rings. Luke’s older brother is a star running back in the league and won the Offensive Player of the Year award for the 2023 season.
His oldest brother, Max McCaffrey, used to be the quarterback for the Duke Devils and is currently working as an assistant coach with the Miami Dolphins. In addition, Luke’s other brother, Dylan, is currently a quarterback at Northern Colorado. Coming from a family of talented athletes, Luke is looking to find his footing in the NFL.
