The football season is all upon us, with less than a month’s time before the first time the ball is set rolling in the regular NFL season. The preseason fixtures have already kicked off, and the franchises are putting the final touches on their play during the practice sessions.

The New England Patriots and the Carolina Panthers were involved in a joint practice session in Foxborough, and tempers flared between the players from both sides. Players from either side were not involved in a single incident, but multiple fights broke out during the course of the session, with head coaches needing to intervene to set them apart.

According to a reputed journalist following the Patriots, Simon Charles, the fight was incited by quarterback Mac Jones as he made a sly comment toward Panthers defensive end, Brian Burns. The comment was reportedly made by Jones after he threw a touchdown pass to Tyquan Thronton.

However, later brian Burns claimed that the duo were not involved in the incident. The defensive end took to his Twitter account to reply to the original tweet made by Simon Charles and wrote, “People believe anything nowadays.”

Another incident saw Panthers safety Kenny Robinson hit Patriots receiver Kristian Wilkerson and stood over him while Wilkerson was down. It led to fighting between the two sides, with the Patriots’ offense team rushing onto the pitch as seen from videos shot by fans who were in the ground to witness the two franchises practice.

The New England Patriots face the Carolina Panthers in their Week 2 preseason fixture on the 20th of August.
