According to a post on his social media site, a man who calls himself ‘The Official Pro-Life Spider-Man’ climbed the outside of the enormous Sphere venue in Las Vegas on Wednesday in order to raise money for a pregnant woman. He was taken into custody.
After 10 a.m., according to Las Vegas police, they started getting calls regarding someone scaling the 366-foot-tall (112-meter-tall) spherical structure close to the Strip. About an hour later, the police department confirmed via email that Maison DesChamps, 24, had been taken into custody.

His arrest came just days before Las Vegas hosts its first-ever Super Bowl, which is expected to bring more than 330,000 visitors this week. DesChamps has climbed skyscrapers in Las Vegas and other places. On Wednesday morning, he uploaded a brief video from his phone to his Instagram account. In the video, he is seen with a GoPro camera strapped to his head against a cloudy yet blue sky.
He said in his video:
Hey guys, I’m here on top of the Sphere.Maison DesChamps said
His stunt aimed to raise money for a pregnant woman facing homelessness while also drawing attention to his anti-abortion cause. The money raised will enable the woman to “cancel her abortion appointment,” he stated in a later post.
On his social media accounts, DesChamps refers to himself as “The Official Pro-Life Spider-Man.” He was arrested a few days prior to the Super Bowl in Glendale, Arizona, of last year, after climbing the tallest building in Phoenix to advocate against abortion.

Maison DesChamps has had his fair share of run-ins with the law. The self-proclaimed “Pro-Life Spider-Man” recently climbed the Sphere in Las Vegas, just days before the Super Bowl. This isn’t the first time DesChamps has pulled off a stunt like this just before a big sporting event.

He did a similar thing just before last year’s Super Bowl. He shocked the Super Bowl crowd in Phoenix, free climbing a 40-story building in a dangerous stunt. Under the handle ‘prolife.spiderman,’ he live-streamed the climb on Instagram, claiming to be trying to raise money and awareness for anti-abortion causes.
DesChamps’ latest climb was sure to get some attention, as thousands of visitors continued to descend upon the city ahead of the showdown between the Philadelphia Eagles and Kansas City Chiefs, with countless news outlets in town to cover the game and its surrounding festivities.
