Jalen Hurts has taken the NFL world by storm after signing a new contract with the Philadelphia Eagles that makes him the highest-paid player in the history of the league.
Hurts has done his due diligence to acquire such a contract. The 24-year-old QB led his team to the Super Bowl. However, they were quite unfortunate to lose to the much stronger Kansas City Chiefs.
Still, Hurts is one of the best QBs in the league, and his new contract reflects that. He signed a 5-year deal worth up to $255 million with around $179 million in guaranteed money. This is the most extravagant contract by any player and NFL analyst Marcus Spears believes it was the right move by the Eagles.
Spears recently featured on the show ‘NFL on ESPN’ and spoke about Hurts’ new contract in great detail. The analyst believes that it was not just his skill that got him the contract, but also his great personality and leadership.
Jalen Hurts is just 24 years old. However, he has shown glimpses of leadership past season and can prove to be a veteran for the Eagles if everything works out between them. Spears also believes that the Eagles were right to offer him that contract as Hurts gives them a chance of winning a championship in the future if he continues to get better each season.
“If you have a chance to win a championship in this league, if you’re gonna have a guy that can continue to get better … then this is the exact guy you pay,” Marcus Spears stated on ‘NFL on ESPN’.

Jalen Hurts’ agent, Nicole Lynn, has been with him since the start of his career and is one of the people who share his vision. Lynn knows about the potential that the Eagles QB has and it’s safe to assume that he can be the best in the NFL.
Marcus Spears was in awe of Nicole Lynn’s ability. He made sure to give a shoutout to her on the show while applauding her for getting Hurts an extravagant contract.
Lynn considers Hurts like her younger brother and wants to do what’s best for him. Recently, she compared him to NBA legend Kobe Bryant and Pop legend Beyonce for his ability to speak and his work ethic and discipline.
Jalen Hurts has finally cemented himself as one of the premier QBs in the league with his new contract. However, now he will have to work even harder to show that he deserves his new price tag.
