When I first heard it, you know what I thought, unfortunately...this is who we are.

He further predicted the sequence of events that will unfold in the next few days.

The ever-revolving cycle is going to start. The news outlets will talk about gun control. They'll have politicians from either side to talk about what needs to be done...

The shooting at the Kansas City Chiefs Super Bowl parade marks a disturbing trend of increasing gun violence

He is sick and tired of going watching this over and over again. Spears pointed out that this was no isolated incident.

I know what the cycle will be, and then we'll go back to normal, everyday scheduled programs.

Shooting incidents such as this have not been unique incidents, at this point, they have gotten quite common and that is dangerous. It was a moment for the Kansas City Chiefs and their fans to enjoy the fruits of their labor.

The team has slogged an entire year to be able to accomplish this feat. The city was united and fans were excited to witness the champions hoisting the Lombardi Trophy through the streets of their city. To open fire in a public gathering of this size highlighted the fact that public safety is a serious matter of concern. The incident left one person dead, more than 20 injured, eight of whom were children.

The madness has to stop but as Marcus Spears pointed out, this incident will not change anything. The Chiefs could not get an opportunity to fully enjoy their second consecutive championship win.
