The Las Vegas Raiders have had a rollercoaster season this year. Their season began with Josh McDaniels at the helm and owing to his subpar performance, he was fired midway through the season.
The team found its recipe for success by appointing Antonio Pierce as the interim HC. He has been doing well in his role. Owner Mark Davis made his philosophy clear with these moves, if a new hire is not working out, it has to be rectified.

This offseason will be a key one for the team as there will be a lot of important decisions to be made. But Mark Davis is not sweating it.

The Raiders owner further elaborated:
You got to get it right. You got to get the whole structure right so that everybody's working together. The left hand has to know what the right hand is doing. That's the goal, to start with getting people with passion for football and people who are unafraid to work. It's not a 9-to-5 job, it's an eight-days-a-week-job.
Mark Davis took shots at Josh McDaniels through his statements. After the HC was fired, it was revealed that he followed the Patriot Way and made sure everyone in the building treated their jobs like a 9 to 5 role.
Mark Davis is looking for a fresh start with the Raiders now
Davis made it clear that hiring individuals with passion for the game is the key to success in the league. The entire organization has to be working in synergy. There cannot be any difference of opinion between the front office and the coaching staff or the athletes if a team intends to win.
He then said,
We're trying to build something. I want to have patience, but I understand that when I make a mistake, I'd rather fix it. I can't sit on it. I've got to fix it right away. That's something that's tough to do because you got people with families and lives involved. That's the hardest part of making the change, but there's so many other people involved that rely on you to make the right decision.

The owner is adopting a practical approach. Since taking over from his late father Al Davis, Mark Davis has made a lot of blunders with the Raiders franchise, however, each of them has been a learning experience for him. He understands that it is not an easy task because there are people involved who provide for their families and to look them in the eye and to tell them you are taking their livelihood away from them is not an easy task. But it has to be done if the team wants to win.
This time, Davis is unlikely to commit the same mistake he did before hiring Josh McDaniels. Despite Rich Bisaccia proving that he can be a successful coach for the team, he was let go. This time, he sees that exact scenario playing out in front of him except with Antonio Pierce at the helm.
