Aaron Rodgers may be done with his time with the Packers as he is given permission by the team to hold talks with the Jets. The Packers QB was with the team since he was drafted by them in 2005.
Rodgers built a great legacy in the NFL and even won the Super Bowl with the Packers. He is regarded as one of the best QBs of this generation and now the veteran will probably play out the remainder of his career in another team.
Although there are strong rumors that Rodgers will depart for the Jets, there’s a small possibility that the talks between both parties won’t come to fruition and A-Rod will be back where he started. Recently, Packers CEO Mark Murphy was present at the live telecast of the WIAA girls’ basketball state tournament. There he was asked about the Rodgers trade drama and the Packers CEO had some interesting things to say.
“Yeah. I mean, unless if things don’t work out the way we would want, yeah,” Murphy said. “He’s obviously a great player. Four-time MVP. But I think it’s trying to find what he wants and what we want, and hopefully, we can find a win-win situation.”
Mark Murphy wants to create a win-win situation for the Packers and Aaron Rodgers
Aaron Rodgers was speculated to leave the Packers since the start of the offseason. However, the people will get the due confirmation only when the free agency has started and the Jets can make an official move for the legendary QB. CEO Mark Murphy is looking forward to Rodgers meeting with the Jets and wants to create an ideal scenario for both teams where they can benefit from each other.
“I can’t get into all the details,” Murphy told Action 2 Sports’ Adriana Torres at the tournament. “But it’s a situation where I think we wanted to help Aaron achieve what he wanted, as well as the Packers, and hopefully create a situation where it’s kind of a win for both sides.”
The Packers are prepared to lose Aaron Rodgers and have put their faith in backup QB Jordan Love, who was drafted as the heir to the legendary QB. However, after 3 years sitting on the sidelines, maybe it’s his time to shine at Green Bay.
