After a triumph against the Cincinnati Bengals in Week 17, the Kansas City Chiefs have ultimately clinched a playoff berth. On top of that, the reigning Super Bowl champions earned the AFC West divisional title for the eighth consecutive time.

However, the victory came with a gloomy moment when Marquez Valdes-Scantling dropped one of the easiest catches. Still, the receiver did not acknowledge that and instead blamed the reigning Super Bowl MVP for the dropped pass.

What happened was that, near halftime, Patrick Mahomes threw a pass at receiver Valdes-Scantling, which could have been turned into a touchdown; however, the receiver dropped the ball near the red zone. After the blunder, the Chiefs had to settle for a field goal.

When Mahomes threw the ball directed towards the receiver, who dropped the pass, he then turned around and motioned his hands to gesture to the quarterback where the ball should have been thrown, hinting that Mahomes was off-target, and that’s why, after the game, Valdes-Scantling did not hold back from blaming Mahomes for the dropped pass.

Quarterback Mahomes finished the game by completing 21 out of his 29 passes for 245 yards, along with a passing touchdown and zero interceptions. This isn’t the first time a player has let down the quarterback and the Chiefs, but that didn’t stop Mahomes from defending the WRs in front of the media.

I feel horrible. And on top of this, he’s only making 500 million dollars. Tragic.

Some fans questioned the wideout’s $11 million salary by the Chiefs as he hasn’t played even near to that amount.
