The Kansas City Chiefs are finally expected to get rid of their wide receiver problem as they signed free agent Marquise Hollywood Brown. After the departure of Tyreek Hill, the team was suffering from WR problems. Last season, this was taken advantage of by a lot of teams and the Chiefs lost a few games. In addition, Patrick Mahomes was seen frustrated owing to this. Hence, they decided to go for a new receiver ahead of the NFL offseason.

And they did that. The Chiefs signed Marquise Brown, who was thrilled to join the champions. He was earlier with the Arizona Cardinals and got very few moments to play. After the 2023 season, the Cardinals did not extend his contract which left him being a free agent.

The Chiefs WR is now happy to be drafted. In a recent video, he was seen vibing to a song after receiving the contract from the Chiefs. It was a big deal for the WR who failed to make it for the Cardinals. He had two underwhelming seasons as the Cardinals’ wide receiver as he had 118 receptions for 1,283 yards and seven combined touchdowns in two seasons. Hence, the Cardinals decided not to extend his contract anymore.

However, his stats have not always been so underwhelming. He was earlier with the Baltimore Ravens where he shined. In the 2021 season, the WR had his career-best as he was often targeted by Lamar Jackson.

Patrick Mahomes was overwhelmed after Marquise Brown joined

If anyone is happy with the signing of the wide receiver then he is Patrick Mahomes. After the news came to light, he shared it on Twitter with a couple of tweets with emojis. That reflected how desperately he needed a signing in the team.

Despite being the best player in the Chiefs squad, he missed the service of a wide receiver after the departure of Tyreek Hill in the last two seasons. In the absence of a proper receiver, Travis Kelce became his prime target. But as things stand right now, Brown might take the pressure away from both Kelce and Mahomes.

It is to be seen whether Patrick Mahomes finally receives the service of a decent wide receiver in the three-peat campaign in the coming time.
