Ohio State Buckeyes wide receiver Marvin Harrison Jr. is one of the most highly touted prospects to ever come out of college.
He is projected to be drafted with the Top 5 selections in the upcoming 2024 NFL Draft. Amidst this, Harrison has made a questionable decision during the NFL scouting combine process in Indianapolis.
According to multiple reports, the Ohio State product, Harrison Jr., was scheduled to address the media on Friday at 8:20 a.m. He was scheduled for a 15-20 minute interview session. However, Harrison never showed up for his scheduled press conference.
Eventually, a media coordinator removed Harrison’s nameplate from the podium and replaced it with UNC QB Drake Maye’s nameplate. Later, Maye showed up at his scheduled time and fielded questions from reporters. So did the projected No. 1 overall pick, Caleb Williams.
Talking to the media at the NFL Combine is optional. Harrison doesn’t owe anyone his time. But the talented wide receiver missing his scheduled interview session raised some eyebrows among fans. However, experts and analysts believe Harrison’s decision to skip the media session will not affect his draft stock.
Many people consider him the best prospect in this year’s draft class. He is expected to be the first non-quarterback to be selected. He is receiving a lot of interest from many teams, including the New England Patriots and the Arizona Cardinals.
The 6’3″ and 202-pound wide receiver played collegiate ball at Ohio State University for the last three years. During his time with the Buckeyes, he caught 155 passes for 2613 receiving yards and 31 receiving touchdowns. In the 2023 season, he finished 4th in Heisman Trophy voting and was named Big Ten Offensive Player of the Year.
