“Best in the league,” Twitter Reacts to Quenton Nelson becoming the HIGHEST paid guard in the NFL following 4-year extension with the Colts
Colts sign Quenton Nelson to massive extension
Quenton Nelson is one of the best guards in the National Football League if not the best and the Indianapolis Colts know this that’s why they have agreed to sign Nelson to an extension which made him the highest-paid Guard in the league. Now Nelson will be responsible for the safety of Colts QB Matt Ryan and running back Jonathan Tylor.
The extension is a 4-year deal worth $80M with $60M guaranteed per Ian Rapoport. A perennial Pro Bowler Nelson has been a permanent fixture of the Colts’ O-line since being drafted no.6 overall in the 2018 NFL draft. Colts who traded for Quarterback Matt Ryan from the Atalanta Falcons earlier this offseason know the important role Nelson will play in keeping Ryan safe. Nelson is a fan favorite and a leader in the locker room.

“Just 4 sacks allowed since 2018.” Well deserved extension for Quenton Nelson
Since being drafted Quenton Nelson has just allowed 4 sacks and was a bright spot on a Colts team that didn’t have much going for it. With Nelson signed to this deal the Colts and their fans can feel optimistic about their Quarterback’s safety as they try to climb to the top of the NFL pyramid after a series of disappointing years.
Colts’ Twitter seems to like this move-
Ryan who will be the Colts’ 4th starting Quarterback since Andrew Luck’s surprise retirement ahead of the 2019 NFL season with running back Jonathan Taylor is expected to vault the Colts’ offense to the next level and having Nelson protecting them is a luxury Colts are ready to pay for, rightfully so.
