Matt Araiza was released by the Buffalo Bills last season after an alleged sexual assault lawsuit. Since then, the young punter has been fighting an intense legal battle in the court of law.
However, things have significantly changed for Araiza as new developments of the case came out. According to recent reports, it was proved that the former Bills‘ punter wasn’t present at the place where the alleged gang r*pe happened. However, the alleged victim still blamed Araiza for the incident.
Recently, the 23-year-old punter gave an interview for an HBO show called the ‘Real Sports with Bryant Gumbel’. Araiza is adamant that he is not guilty of the charges. Instead, the former NFL punter wants to file a defamation lawsuit against attorney Dan Gilleon. Araiza also stated that the girl was the first one to initiate sexual contact and the terrible incident happened way after that.
“I’ve already hired an attorney for it, and things have already been drafted,” Matt Araiza stated in the Interview. “I will never waive my right to sue him. That’s coming.”
The alleged victim’s attorney Dan Gilleon was also asked for an interview at the same show. Gilleon’s story has completely changed after new developments in the story.

Matt Araiza was alleged of gang r*pe that led to his new NFL career getting shambled. However, new investigations suggest a different story altogether. This brings attorney Dan Gilleon at a crossroads and with the threat of a defamation lawsuit, he has changed his story entirely.
Before, Gilleon suggested that Araiza was present at the place of the terrible incident. However, now he believes that Araiza’a absence doesn’t prove his innocence.
“Our allegation is, is he contributed heavily to the harm that she suffered that night,” Gilleon said. “He had sex with my client. Following that, she ended up having sex with multiple guys and came out of there bloodied, in shock. Ended up at the hospital, ended up with the police, and ended up traumatized. So that’s what I mean by the gang rape.”
The analogy by Gilleon is pretty hard to understand for many, and even the prosecutors have decided not to file charges against Matt Araiza. With his reputation completely shattered, it is safe to assume that the former Bills punter will try to win it back with this defamation lawsuit.
