Since the day Carolina Panthers acquired Baker Mayfield from the Cleveland Browns there has been one question asked around the world-Sam Darnold or Baker Mayfield. Since then the world has been waiting with baited breaths for shots to be fired, snide comments to be made and sides to be taken in this Quarterback competition.
The world was disappointed as this competition still has no fire at least on the outside as some of deemed this battle for the starting QB spot too friendly between the two and Panthers staff has not made their intention known yet time and time again Head Coach Matt Rhule is asked the same question Baker or Sam.

Rhule has not yet given a definite answer or any answer as the answer may determine eventually if he will keep his job. The end of the battle is near per Rhule though.
Rhule’s Carolina Panthers will face Bill Belichik’s New England Patriots on 19th August in preseason matchup where both Quarterbacks have a chance to prove themselves as after it the Panthers brass will make their decision.
“I’m not putting a timetable on the quarterback position until after we get back from the Patriots week,” Rhule said, via ESPN’s David Newton. “The Patriots week is a true litmus test for us. That will really show us where guys are.”
