Matthew Stafford’s wife Kelly brews conspiracy theories of ‘NFL scripts’ following controversial ending to Cowboys-Lions game
Stafford's wife is a firm believer in the NFL Script and thinks it had something to do with the recent Lions loss in the Cowboys game.

A lot has been said about the controversial Detroit Lions loss in the Dallas Cowboys game. Matthew Stafford has seen one or two patchy decisions in his 15-year-long career in the NFL.
Stafford, who was the Lions’ first pick in the 2009 draft, spent 12 seasons at Ford Field as their starting quarterback. But the recent controversial Brad Allen decision made him remember one other particular moment from his Detroit days.
During the 2015 wild card round, the Lions and the Cowboys locked horns for a place in the next round. In that game, Stafford’s team picked up a crucial pass interference, which allowed Dallas to snatch the tie away from their nose.
The 35-year-old’s wife, Kelly, on her podcast ‘The Morning After with Kelly Stafford and Hank‘, said Stafford had the same reaction as millions of Detroit fans throughout the country. In the last 30 seconds of the game, the Lions thought they had won the game, but the referee adjudged that receiver Taylor Decker was ineligible to be part of the play because he failed to report himself.
The two-pointer that should have given Detoirt their 12th win of the season was chalked off. Kelly revealed on her podcast what her husband said after seeing the decision.
Holy s*it. It happened again.Kelly on her podcast
Even Kelly did not mince her words. She claimed to not believe in the NFL script, but according to her, this was the “biggest scam of 2023.”
Matthew Stafford could face the Detroit Lions in the playoffs
The Los Angeles Rams were struggling midway through the season; they had lost six games to nine. But in the next seven games, they won six and squeezed into the playoffs, finishing second in the NFC West. This will be their first postseason football game since they won the Super Bowl back in 2021.
Now the question is who Cooper Kupp and Puka Nacua could potentially face post-season. If the Rams clinch the 6th seed in the NFC, then Matthew Stafford might play against Detroit.
Kelly spoke her mind about the situation:
It doesn’t matter if the game is in Dallas. There are always rules made up when something happens with the lions. Whether this is an NFL script or not, they want the Rams to play the Lions, and they’re working to make that happen. I know people laugh at the idea of a script, but I’m kind of a believer in the script.Kelly added
However, for Sean McVay‘s team to make that scenario come true, they first need to outplay the San Francisco 49ers on the last day of the season. Because the 49ers have the top seed in the division, they get an automatic bye. That’s more of the reason to rest some key players. Quarterback Brock Purdy and touchdown machine Christian McCaffrey will both miss the game.
