The Las Vegas Raiders made a change at the quarterback position in the off-season after they failed to make it to the postseason under their former leader Derek Carr. They ended up releasing Carr and signed the 2-time Super Bowl Champion Jimmy Garoppolo to replace him. Amidst this, the Raiders’ star defensive end Maxx Crosby has expressed his frustrations about not being a contender in the last few seasons.

“Every single day, I come in here, I think about winning. I don’t do this year ‘round to come in and not make the playoffs. I’m sick of that sh*t. And I want to keep winning,” said Crosby in Thursday’s press conference.

Furthermore, the 2-time Pro Bowl defensive end also experienced his desire to experience the playoff atmosphere and his desire to win the Championship ring.

“I want to get back in the playoffs. I want to be in Cincinnati on the road in a hostile environment, that’s why I play the game. That’s why I work the way I work. I come here and I do this all year. And, like I said, I want to win championships. I want to be at the top of the game. I want to be the No. 1 guy, regardless of position. But I work for that every single day,” said Crosby.

Crosby wants to best version of himself and “lead by example” in the 2023 season but the ultimate goal is to reach the playoffs. A high ambition for the Raiders since it’ll be tough for them to make it to the postseason with a new quarterback. Especially since they are in a tough AFC West division.

The last time the Raiders made it to the playoffs was in the 2021 season and the last time the Las Vegas-based football team registered a playoff victory is way back in 2002.

Maxx Crosby has been a massive asset for the Raiders

The Raiders found a diamond in the rough when they drafted Maxx Crosby in the 4th round (106th overall) of the 2019 NFL Draft. Ever since he entered the league, he has been a force to reckon with.

He has raked up 37.5 sacks in his first years in the league and has received 2 Pro Bowl nods. His best campaign so far came in the 2022 regular season when he registered 12.5 sacks and led the league in tackles for loss (22).

The Raiders locked up Crosby with a massive 4-year contract extension worth $98.98 million in the 2022 off-season. The 25-year-old is just entering his prime and will be a massive asset for the Raiders’ defense in the upcoming years.
