Despite being 3-5, the Las Vegas Raiders look like one of the most dysfunctional teams in the ongoing NFL season so far. All of their 3 victories are against other struggling teams, including the Chicago Bears and the New England Patriots. It seems like the Raiders are heading into a rebuild next season. But this team does have some bright spots including wide receiver Davante Adams and defensive end Maxx Crosby.

On Monday, the imploding Raiders’ struggles were on display during their tough week 8 loss against the Detroit Lions. The star receiver Davante Adams was seen viciously slamming his helmet on the sideline and further dropping an f-bomb. But on the bright side, the Raiders pass rusher Maxx Crosby played with full passion on Monday night.

During the final minutes of the second quarter of the game, the Lions had a 2-point lead and were attempting to march down the field to extend that lead. QB Jared Goff, who received the snap from under center, handed the ball off to Detroit running back Jahmyr Gibbs, who tried to find the hole. But he was quickly tackled and brought down by Crosby for no gain.

After blowing up that play, Crosby was pumped up and yelled:

I’M A F--KIN’ DOG!

Crosby couldn’t register a sack in the game against the Lions, but he was making a huge impact. The Pro Bowl pass rusher was constantly wreaking havoc in the Raiders’ backfield. He registered 8 tackles in the game and forced a fumble.

Still, he couldn’t help the Raiders outduel the Lions on Monday Night Football. As a result, the Detroit-based football team ended up defeating the Raiders as the final score read 26-14 in favor of the Lions.

Maxx Crosby is one of the only few positives in the dysfunctional Raiders team

The Raiders drafted Maxx Crosby in the 4th round of the 2019 NFL Draft. The Eastern Michigan product has developed over the years and is currently one of the best defensive players in the league.

Through the first 8 weeks, Crosby has registered 6.5 sacks in 8 games. He is on pace to have the best season of his career yet. Crosby is expected to be one of the main pieces in a possible Raiders rebuild in the coming year.

But for now, he would look to help his team bounce back from Monday’s defeat with a victory against the struggling New York Giants, who the Raiders are scheduled to face in their week 9 game on Sunday.
