As division rivals, the Las Vegas Raiders and the Kansas City Chiefs are one of the most intense rivalries in football history. Every time they face each other, there will be no shortage of action and entertainment. In one such matchup, the Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes lost his cool and beefed with the Raiders edge rusher Maxx Crosby and now roughly 8 months after the incident Crosby discussed the infamous moment with Von Miller.

During a recent episode of the Bleacher Report show Voncast hosted by the Buffalo Bills pass rusher Von Miller, Maxx Crosby revealed what happened between him and Patrick Mahomes during the Chiefs-Raiders week 5 matchup of the 2022 regular season.

“I’m always barking at everybody, it’s part of my nature,” said Crosby. “Pat wasn’t going for it, you know. He was talking back, and he’s like, ‘Aye, what’s up?’ And so they went down and scored. And I’m standing and watching, and they were all running in the endzone. I get bumped behind my back. I get hit with a shoulder; I turned my shoulder and it was Pat, and he was still running.”

“And I’m like, ‘Oh no, I’m not going for that’, and so I ran straight to him and I headbutted him, like ‘What’s up?’ So we were just jawing and everybody online obviously made a big deal about it.”

The infamous incident happened in a thrilling match between the Chiefs and the Raiders. The Chiefs ended up winning the close game 30-29 and the star QB Patrick Mahomes accounted for 4 touchdowns in the games. Crosby was also making his presence felt during the entire game as he registered 2 sacks and was constantly on the Chiefs backfield but it wasn’t enough for the Raiders to defeat the Chiefs.

The Raiders EDGE Maxx Crosby is due for a monster season

The Las Vegas Raiders found a gem in the rough when they drafted Maxx Crosby in the 4th round of the 2019 NFL Draft. The explosive pass rusher has been one of the best defenders in the NFL ever since he entered the league.

Crosby immediately took over the league by storm in his rookie year as he registered 10 sacks and finished second in the Defensive Rookie of the Year voting.

Furthermore, the 2-time Pro Bowl edge rusher Crosby registered 15 sacks in his next two campaigns which led to him signing a massive 4-year deal worth up to $94 million in the 2022 off-season

After signing the contract, Crosby had the best outing of his career so far as he accounted for 12.5 sacks last season and received his second consecutive Pro Bowl nod.

He is now looking to improve his resume by winning the DPOY award in the upcoming season. Crosby is now more polished than before and if he can stay healthy, he certainly has a shot at winning the prestigious award.
