“I won’t go back!” Chiefs Super Bowl-winning WR Mecole Hardman strongly rejects chances of Jets reunion as he hits free agency
Hardman will be entering free agency but he will not accept any offers from the New York Jets.

It appears that Mecole Hardman Jr.‘s brief stint with the New York Jets wasn’t a memorable one. Midway through last season, he returned to the Kansas City Chiefs, who selected him in the second round of the 2019 NFL Draft.
During his first stint with the Chiefs, Hardman won two Super Bowls, one in his rookie campaign and the other in the 2022 season. However, he switched to Missouri for the Big Apple, signing with the New York Jets in the 2023 offseason.
The Jets signed the former Georgia receiver to a one-year deal. They required a playmaker to pair with the in-coming Aaron Rodgers after losing Elijah Moore to the Cleveland Browns.
Hardman appeared in five games, playing 29 snaps and recording just one catch for six yards. The Jets then decided to send him back to the Chiefs for a future late-round draft pick. It seems that’s the last time he wants to wear a gang-green jersey.
While appearing on NFL Network’s Total Access, Mecole Hardman said he has no desire to ever play for the Jets again.
No. I won't go back to the Jets.Hardman told Andrew Siciliano
Mecole Hardman’s NFL career
Despite the familiar surroundings in Kansas City, Hardman’s performance did not show any improvement. A highlight that he would definitely want to forget was when he fumbled the ball twice against the Buffalo Bills in the AFC Divisional Round game. One of them resulted in a touchback that allowed the Bills to establish a foothold. He finished the game with just one reception for two yards.
Even though the 25-year-old registered 92 overall yards in the playoffs, he came in late for the Super Bowl. Harman cemented his name in Chiefs folklore by scoring the match-winning touchdown.
Super Bowl 58, against the San Francisco 49ers, went to the wire after the game finished 19-19 in regular time. The 49ers decided to receive and increase the lead via a Jake Moody field goal.
But with a few seconds left, Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes lobbed the ball to Hardman to score a 3-yard touchdown, winning their third ring in five seasons. The game finished 25-22. When one job is completed, another one pops up. Hardman’s contract will be up soon, and he will be a free agent.
We'll just see if they want me back. If not, it might be somewhere else.
Well, whatever team comes for him, he won’t be answering calls from the Jets. Then again, if the Chiefs extend his stay, then all parties should be happy considering the increased salary cap.
