“Huge loss for the Jets”: OT Mekhi Becton likely out for the season
Mekhi Becton injured
The New York Jets are hoping for a resurgence with their sophomore Quarterback Zach Wilson but Jets dreams suffered huge blow when a key offensive player suffered an injury that will result in him probably being out for the season.
Mekhi Becton was drafted by the Jets in the 2020 NFL draft with the 11th pick but since being drafted Becton hadn’t had the best of luck as he has been able to play 8 complete out of a possible 33, and in those he only played in 15 games.

Mekhi Becton probably out for season after MRI
Before training camp started Becton was ready to answer his critics and deliver on the promise that made him a 1st round pick but in training camp Becton suffered an injury. Becton underwent MRI, results of which indicated that he had a fractured kneecap because of which he will probably be out for the season said Coach Robert Salah.
The offensive lineman sustained an avulsion fracture of his right kneecap during Monday’s session and Becton will see a surgeon Wednesday. Saleh confirmed as much, telling reporters Becton would seek a second opinion.
Becton was drafted after a stellar college career at Louisville and was an incredible mix of size and athleticism which made him one of the must have prospects in the 2020 NFL draft.
Jets drafted him as they felt the need to fill a key position to protect their franchise Quarterback and at the time Becton was considered the steal of the draft but since then it has not been smooth sailing for the franchise or Becton.
