Michael Irvin is a Hall of Fame receiver who is a legend for the NFL franchise, Dallas Cowboys. The retired WR accomplished almost everything in his position and retired as one of the best receivers of his time.

After his stint in the NFL, Irvin decided to be a sports commentator and was extremely successful in that venture as well. However, tragedy struck the Hall of Famer when he was alleged to harassment by a hotel employee.

This resulted in him getting embroiled in a $100 million lawsuit with the Marriott Hotel chain. Irvin was accused of “harassing and passing inappropriate comments” to a female employee at one of the Marriott Hotels. The whole incident was recorded on CCTV camera and soon became one of the most trendiest and shocking news within the NFL community.

Due to these allegations, Irvin was removed from the NFL Network and was even suspended from the Super Bowl LVII panel. The former Cowboys WR is currently going through a tough time and he shared more about his ordeal recently through a tweet. Irvin replied to a tweet and affirmed that he was in a “dark place” amidst this controversy.

“You might be right bro…. But I was in a dark place from dealing with all that stuff since Super Bowl I had to get away. Thanks bro,” Michael Irvin stated in a tweet.

Michael Irvin has maintained his innocence since the unfortunate incident

This completely controversial incident involving Irvin transpired at the Marriott-owned Renaissance Phoenix downtown hotel, in Las Vegas. According to the CCTV footage, Michael Irvin was seen talking to the lady who later accused him of harassment.

Irvin was apparently making his way to the bar but moved inwards to talk to the lady. They later shook hands and went their own ways. The former Cowboys WR was later evicted from the hotel without any knowledge of the incident.

“Here’s the truth. We used to say when we played football ‘the eye in the sky don’t tell no lie.’ It’s just the truth. We talk and tell lies, but the eye in the sky don’t tell no lie,” Michael Irvin commented on the situation, via Steven Dial of Fox 4.

Michael Irvin was accused of asking the woman to have intercourse with him according to the court documents. However, Michael Irvin has maintained his innocence and pleaded he is not guilty of the offense he has been accused of.
