Good news for the fans of Michael Irvin. The former Dallas Cowboys superstar is all set to return to the NFL as he has reportedly made an out-of-court settlement with the famous hotel chain Marriot. As multiple media sources reported, the hotel chain is unwilling to pursue the $100 million defamation case.

Since Marriot is not going to take this case forward, the NFL will also remove the suspension that it imposed following the case. Hence, the analyst does not have any roadblocks to return to the show.

Marriot lodged a defamation case against Irvin after the analyst got involved in inappropriate behavior during the Super Bowl week earlier this year when the Kansas City Chiefs encountered the Philadelphia Eagles.  The analyst allegedly harassed a female staff at the hotel. Right after the incident took place, the NFL authority suspended the analyst and was dropped from the organization’s network coverage.

The NFL will also have a sigh of relief with this out-of-court settlement. Marriot claimed that it passed the complaint along to the NFL under the league’s express instructions. If the case had proceeded, the investigative authority would have called for the league to produce documents. In addition, they would have asked the league to make witnesses available for the testimony.

However, as per multiple reports, the league does not want to be involved in any case between Irvin and the hotel. Hence, removing the suspension would carry some good news for the NFL authority. The league authority does not want to apply this policy to anyone in this league.

The settlement in this case remains confidential, though. However, few media houses reported that if Irvin had known that he had to settle outside the courtroom, he could have taken less time.

Irvin kept himself busy in preparing for the upcoming NFL 2023-24 season. He recently made a debut in the famous football podcasting show, ‘Undisputed.” After Shannon Sharpe left the show due to some disagreement with Skip Bayless, Irvin came in to fill his void. Since the NFL has also lifted his suspension, it can be said that the star can have a good time now.

On the other hand, the famous US billionaire and the owner and the general manager of the Dallas Cowboys, Jerry Jones, congratulated him on the settlement.

“He deserves it. He’s earned it. He’s a friend and he has been loyal to me. Very loyal to me. I need reciprocity,” Jones added.
