The Michigan Wolverines have had a phenomenal season so far, winning eight games straight. They are sitting atop the Big Ten East conference, but despite the team’s winning season, things are not entirely good.

Head Coach Jim Harbaugh and the team are being looked into by Central Michigan University and are in trouble with the NCAA over accusations of stealing signs from their opponents.

However, amidst all the darkness and despair, the President of Michigan University, Santa Ono, remains optimistic about this JJ McCarthy-led squad. He is so impressed by the performance of this team and the fight that they have shown in each and every game of this college football season that he could not help but compare this team to the Michigan Wolverines, led by Bo Schembechler.

The late Bo Schembechler headed the Michigan Football program for 21 years and when his tenure at the college came to an end, his record was 194 wins, 48 losses, and 5 draws. Not to mention, a total of 13 Big Ten Conference titles won. President Santa Ono took to X to share how proud he is of this Michigan team.

Bo Schembechler ‘s impact on the Michigan Wolverines program continues to be felt to this day

His words come as reassurance for JJ McCarthy and the Jim Harbaugh-coached Wolverines.

Team 144 are our team. Deep down, your players must know you care about them. This is the most important thing...They know, in the long run, that I'm in their corner.

No matter what, President Santa Ono will always vouch for this team and support them at every step. The spirit, the energy, and the execution on each and every play by Team 144 this season is something that Bo Schembechler would be immensely proud of. The football program which he pioneered and lifted to the top has established itself yet again as one of the best.

Jim Harbaugh was coached by Bo Schembechler in the mid-1980s when he was an All-American. Harbaugh’s father Jack was one of the secondary coaches under Bo and Jim has practically spent a significant chunk of his childhood around the Wolverines facility.

It is not surprising to see that he inculcates the same values and no-nonsense approach while coaching players just like Bo Schembechler did.
