Bucs WR Mike Evans is in deep water for allegedly signing an autograph for the match officiators. Evans has recorded on video writing something on a white card for the referees.
It was highly believed that Evans was signing an autograph for the referees, which is not allowed in the NFL and has serious circumstances if done.
Mike Evans finally gave his take on the controversy and he stated that he wasn’t signing an autograph but writing something else on the card.
The league started an investigation for the incident and concluded that there were no rules broken and Evans wasn’t signing an autograph, though they didn’t state the content of the white paper he wrote in.
“I wasn’t signing my autograph, I’ll tell you that,” Mike Evans stated in a press conference. “I talk to a lot of officials, we’re all human beings. He’s a nice guy. That’s all. We were just talking about, you know, golf. That’s all we were talking about.”
Though now it is confirmed that Mike Evans wasn’t signing an autograph, people want to find out what was he writing in the paper given to him by the referees.
The NFL-controlled media conglomerate stated that Evans was writing his phone number for the official because he wanted golf lessons and the official knew a Pro Golfer who was willing to give those lessons.
Mike Evans stated that they were talking about golf. The whole incident has aroused suspicion from NFL fans who want to find out what’s going on behind the scenes and why the league isn’t transparent with these small issues.
Mike Evans is currently part of a struggling Bucs team
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have had their worst start since Tom Brady became their QB and it’s not looking good for them this season. WR Mike Evans is also going through an abysmal season with only 454 yards and just 3 touchdowns.
The Bucs have lost two games in a row as they were defeated by the underdog Carolina Panthers this week. Although they are currently top of their division, that’s because their competition is also out of form.
Tom Brady has also struggled to find form as the QB is going through many things in his life currently, including his rumored split with his wife, Gisele.
The Bucs are in the danger zone currently and can’t afford to lose any game if they still want to challenge for something better this season.
