Mike Evans has been a reliable figure in the Tampa Bay Buccaneers locker room for a long time now. The WR was drafted by the Bucs and has been with them since then.

Evans was also part of the team that won the Super Bowl with the legendary Tom Brady and played an instrumental part in that victory. Now, the talented WR chases another record set by the legendary former WR Jerry Rice

Rice was an influential WR who won three Super Bowls with the San Francisco 49ers. However, his greatest achievement was going for 11 straight seasons while recording 1000+ yards in each season.

Evans is looking forward to breaking the record and needs to perform in just 2 seasons. Ever since the WR was drafted, he has recorded more than 1000 yards. Nine seasons later, Evans looks to challenge the great Jerry Rice and make the record his own.

“I think about. It’s right there, so I’m gonna definitely try to go get that,” Mike Evans told KPRC 2 Houston’s Ari Alexander at his youth football camp this week. “I’m already one of one right now. I hope I can pass the great Jerry Rice and his record. Obviously, nobody will pass his records probably, like ever, total. But that 1,000-yard streak record would be cool to have.”

Mike Evans is certainly the most reliable WR in the league

The Bucs have drafted the most reliable WR in the league in Mike Evans. The 29-year-old has never led the league in receiving yards. However, he manages to record 1000+ yards each season with great ease.

The talented WR wants to keep that going for a couple of more seasons to break the record. Currently, he’s joint 3rd in the race with Randy Moss. However, consistent performances could likely change that.

“I should get 1,000 yards if I’m healthy. Every year,” Mike Evans said. “It ain’t that. I want to be one of the tops in the league. I want to be winning games. That’s what I care about.”

The Bucs WR also desired to lead the NFL in receptions while holding on to his consistent form. However, the Bucs are currently in transition ans have 2 new QBs fighting for the starting spot. This can make things difficult for Mike Evans.
