After their red-hot finish in 2022, the Detroit Lions are running riot this season. The team started their tally after a surprising victory over the Kansas City Chiefs in their season opener. The first match marked a clear indication that the Lions would go for something big, and they are on a perfect pace. In six games, the Detroit Lions won five and lost just one. They have already attracted the attention of analysts like Stephen A. Smith and Mike Greenberg.  

In a recent episode of Get Up, Mike Greenberg said, “That’s why the Lions are the best team in football. No one’s talking about it, but the Lions are the best team because they can beat you any way you want to play them.” The analyst attributed the credit to the team’s offense, which has remained good this season. They have also showcased their defensive dominance across six games.

He was not alone in praising the Lions. Prior to this, Stephen A. Smith also had nice words for the Lions. In his show, First Take, the analyst said, “The Detroit Lions are the No. 1 team after Week 6 because here’s the reason why: their defense is real. They’re going to have a defensive player of the year on that squad. Understand, we have to look at it from that perspective. Smith praised the contributions of Jameson Williams, Jared Goff and other Lions players in having an excellent start to the season.

The NFL is a marathon competition; to succeed in the league, a team must show much perseverance. The Lions have indeed had a good start. However, to do something good they need to have the perseverance for a marathon league.

The Detroit Lions have shown sheer dominance since the beginning

The Detroit Lions have dominated the opposition since the beginning of the season. Their last win came against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, where they restricted the Bucs only to six points. Not only the Bucs, they also restricted the Atlanta Falcons to six points. Offensively, they thrashed the Carolina Panthers by scoring 42 points.

Overall, the team has shown great work on the field. Considering the NFC North’s state, they could make the playoffs and win the division. The Vikings have struggled this season. The Packers have a new QB in Jordan Love, who is learning the craft. The Bears have struggled this season and could end up with the first draft pick next season if their woes continue. At the moment, the Lions aim to win the division and make a deep playoff run this season.
