“Not trying too,” Dolphins HC Mike McDaniel drops a one-line bomb on critiques trying to mock his ‘spending habits’

Mike McDaniel and the Miami Dolphins had a roller coaster of a season in 2022. The Dolphins led by their star QB Tua Tagovailoa started the season with three straight victories, but once their QB Tua got injured, the team lost three straight games, taking their record to 3-3 after 6 weeks.
Furthermore, the Dolphins rallied as a team and won five 5 consecutive games, and were in a pretty good position at 8-3 after 12 weeks to make a postseason appearance. However, that all changed when Tua got injured again. The star QB injured his ankle during their week 13 game against the Buffalo Bills. The Miami-based football team went on to lose five consecutive games, which made it difficult for them to claim a playoff spot.
However, they managed to win their final regular season game against the New York Jets without Tua under center to claim a playoff spot. Furthermore, the Dolphins faced their division rival Bills in the wild-card game. Since Tagovailoa got injured and missed the game, no one gave the Dolphins a shot at winning against the dominant AFC East Champions.
But, head coach Mike McDaniel with his third-string rookie quarterback under center gave the Bills a tough fight in playoffs. The Dolphins lost the game, but McDaniels proved to everyone that he is capable of becoming a great head coach in the league.
Mike McDaniel is not embarrassed about showing off his wealth
Mike McDaniel is a very admired coach in the league. His football talent with his relatable off-field behaviors has made him one of the fan favorites in the league. Plus, he will never shy away from speaking his mind.
During the NFL Combine, McDaniel joined Pro Football Talk on NBC to talk about his team’s offseason, where he received a compliment about his dressing sense. But the hosts made it awkward by joking about how McDaniel can’t hide the head coach’s money.
To which McDaniel simply replied with a one-line bomb by saying that he was not trying to hide the money.“Not trying to. Spent a lot of life poor,” McDaniel responded jokingly when he was told you “can’t hide money” during the NFL combine.
There might be an off-season for Mike McDaniel’s football-related activities, but there is no off-season for the quirkiness of the second-year head coach of the Miami-based football team.
