If there is anyone who knows the worth of NFL superstars it’s the team executives and coaches that run the league so it is always very interesting when Mike Sando of The Athletic comes out with his annual quarterback rankings based on opinions of the aforementioned executives and coaches.
The QB’s are ranked in tiers 1 to 5 with 1 being the tier with Quarterback’s who can carry their team each week and are the reason their team wins. Green Bay Packers Aaron Rodgers is one such QB as reflected by the rankings. The 4 time league MVP is one of the best to ever do it.
Tier-1 led by Aaron Rodgers joined by Mahomes, Brady, Allen, Burrow and Herbert
Rodgers is not only in the tier 1 but leads the tier as the no.1 Quarterback. Mike Sando the man behind the list “loves that he’s number one in the rankings” said on The PatMcAfee show.
He also said that he loves it as Rodgers is most fun guy to watch and there’s no one like him. Rodgers will have to certainly be the best if he wants to win the Lombardi as he will be without 1st team All Pro Wide Receiver Davante Adams who is now a Raider.
While young guns like Joe Burrow and Justin Herbert made the top tier a few big names were missing from it such as the reigning SuperBowl champion Matthew Stafford and the Denver Bronco’s new QB 1 Russell Wilson. Stafford has always been underrated as a Quarterback while Wilson who forced his way out of Seattle for Broncos has been overtaken by the young guns. Another notable name to miss out of tier 1 was Raven’s superstar Lamar Jackson.
Brady who will turn 45 next month, walked back his decision to retire earlier this year is still considered one of the best in the league which in itself tells the respect Brady commands. Tier one was rounded of by Kansas City Chiefs Patrick Mahomes and Buffalo Bills Josh Allen. All tier 1 QB’s are part of teams that are expected to make a run for the Superbowl so we will definitely find out the best among the best or we may have another tier QB making his case for the top.
