The Vikings never gave up despite being down 33-0 at halftime.
The Minnesota Vikings have had quite the season this year. The team has dominated consistently and, despite the occasional disappointments; they have created history. In Saturday night’s football game, the team was able to overcome a 33-point deficit and beat the Indianapolis Colts 39-36 in OT.
The Vikings secured the NFC North title with this win, but the comeback was more special than them making the playoffs. The game began with the Colts DOMINATING the Vikings. By halftime, the score was 33 to nothing in favor of the Colts. Fans were convinced that the game was done and under no circumstance, the Vikings would be able to mount a comeback.
However, at halftime, something clicked for Minnesota. The team went into the break-depleted and looked like a team that had given up all hope. In the locker room, due to the leadership of veterans such as Patrick Peterson, the team was able to regroup and reignite the spark within themselves.
Patrick Peterson reportedly stated, “All we need is five touchdowns.” That advice may be simple, but it clearly did have an impact on the team. Kirk Cousins did not throw a single interception after halftime, Jonathan Taylor was in that game, and Matt Ryan appeared to play like he did in Super Bowl LI and was not able to connect with his wideouts. All these factors enabled Minnesota to mount one of the greatest comebacks in league history.

With the loss to the Minnesota Vikings, Matt Ryan has been a part of the two worst blowout losses in NFL history:

As great as this comeback was, it was equally hurtful for Matt Ryan, as this game put him in the history books for all the wrong reasons. Ryan is the QB on both the teams that have blown the biggest comebacks in league history. The Colts blew a 33-0 lead while the Atlanta Falcons blew a 28-3 lead in Super Bowl LI.
Following the Colts’ humiliation, fans went berserk on Twitter:
Bron knows it all.
This has to summarize the whole game aptly.
A win is a win, 10 years down the road. Nobody would know if this Colts squad was good or bad.
Kirko Chains is Matty Ice’s worst nightmare.
In all honesty, it is hard to get blown out that hard. It is an achievement in a way.
Do not know about the Vikings but the Colts were definitely sad.
Name that team Minnesota Miracles.
Kirk Cousins and Justin Jefferson are enough to go up against the top teams in the league.
KIRKO CHAINSSS!
The game did take an unexpected turn in the second half. The Vikings deserve props for not losing hope and coming out and playing hard after halftime, it is often hard to keep yourselves together when the score gap is that vast.
