There is no place better than sports! It is the purest embodiment of human emotion and for athletes who put their literal blood, sweat, and tears into perfecting their respective craft, there is nothing more frustrating and agonizing than injuries. Kirk Cousins, the quarterback for the Minnesota Vikings, suffered a painful Achilles tendon tear in the team’s victory against the Packers.

This week, his teammates have stepped up and decided to show their appreciation and respect for their quarterback by wearing customized T-shirts featuring iconic moments and images of Kirk Cousins. The Vikings are set to play against the Atlanta Falcons. This will be the third time since 2018 that the team will not have Kirk Cousins as their QB.

While warming up, Vikings players sported brand-new customized T-shirts and hoodies from Dreamathon. On the front of the shirt, the quarterback’s name is printed in bold letters in purple and yellow, the official colors of the Vikings.

Kirk Cousins is the heart and soul of this Minnesota Vikings offense

The outfits have some amazing detailing to them as it feature images of Kirk Cousins throwing the ball, an image of him entering the field with his teammates behind his back, which signifies that the entire Vikings roster has his back through his rough recovery process.

On the back, there is a Dreamathon logo under which the words “Gave it” are displayed across in yellow color. It is heartwarming to see the QB’s teammates have his back and show their support to him in this manner. Cousins has been one of the most durable players in the NFL and this horrific Achilles injury could not have come at a worse time, as this is the last year of his contract.

The Vikings had reported earlier this week that Cousins successfully underwent surgery to repair his torn Achilles tendon and the QB posted an image via his Instagram to let the fans know that the procedure went well. He was even seen sporting a purple cast. Cousins truly embodies the spirit of a true Viking.

It is disappointing to see Kirk go down after having one of his best seasons to date in the NFL. He had 18 touchdown passes, leading the league, ranked second in terms of passing yards with 2,331 yards, and had the 10th-best QBR of 63.5 through Week 8. For now, rookie Jaren Hall will be starting for the Vikings on Sunday, the team has also acquired Joshua Dobbs from the Cardinals as well.
