Myles Garrett reveals real reason for picking Joe Burrow over Lamar Jackson as the NFL’s current best QB
Garrett conclusion on choosing Burrow over Jackson was based on the recent form of the two teams.

A few days ago, Cleveland Browns pass rusher Myles Garrett claimed that Cincinnati Bengals QB Joe Burrow is currently the better signal-caller than Baltimore Ravens’ Lamar Jackson. Garrett clarified why he picked a player with five wins under their belt over another who has seven this season.
Speaking to the reporters on Friday after practice, Myles Garrett revealed his reasoning.
He's [Burrow] produced at a higher level at this point in his career.
The 27-year-old further continued, as per Mary Kay Cabot,
Even though Lamar has an MVP, he's more dynamic at what he does, and the results speak for themselves. I'd give Burrow the nod for what he's been able to accomplish.
Hypothetically, it’s impossible to distinguish between the two players when they are still hitting their prime. Joe Burrow entered the league in 2020, earning a Pro Bowl nod and the Comeback Player title the following year. He has led the Bengals to back-to-back AFC Championship games. Not only that, Cincinnati made its first Super Bowl appearance in more than three decades in 2022.
On the other hand, Jackson made his NFL debut back in 2018 and has two Pro Bowl appearances and an All-Pro to his name. The 26-year-old was also voted the 2019 season MVP. He played postseason four of the last five campaigns, but contrary to Burrow, the best he can muster is the divisional playoffs.
Myles Garrett poised to face Lamar Jackson and the Ravens
Garrett did sound sincere in choosing Burrow, but the question is, why now? It could possibly be linked to the fact that the Browns will face the Ravens this Sunday. Last time, it was total dominance from Baltimore, scoring 28 and only allowing 3 points.
When asked about what went wrong in week 4, the All-Pro Defensive End said the final score was very misleading.
It's a lot closer than [of what] the scoreboard says. We shut them down for most of the game, [but] we let them have three drives, and they made the most out of them.
Well, the Ravens were up by 21 in halftime, so the argument doesn’t add up. But the Texas native had an answer.
We all came up short, whether it was physicality or execution. When you break down those three drives, they’re blown coverage or people out of their position.
However, they will find it hard to breach the Browns’ defense this time around. This game may make or break the division. As things stand, the Ravens, Browns, Bengals, and Steelers are all eligible to play postseason if the season ends today.
