“Can’t move one way based on hearsay”: Myles Garrett says he doesn’t want to jump to conclusion in Deshaun Watson sexual harassment case

Deshaun Watson is a name to reckon with in the world of the NFL. However, lately, he has been in the news for all the wrong reasons. A lawsuit was filed against him by 22 women who accused him of harassment and sexual assault. Although a grand jury had declined to indict him in the case a while ago, he is still under NFL’s investigation.
What came as another twist in the tale a few days back, Deshaun in his deposition admitted that one of his encounters with a massage therapist ended with a woman weeping. Moreover, as reported by USA Today, Deshaun even sent a text to the woman apologizing for what had transpired.

Moreover, the two women who sued Watson for sexual misconduct said that Deshaun’s massive contract with the Browns was like a ”big screw you.” What came as another twist in the tale, another woman filed a lawsuit against Watson, the Cleveland Browns quarterback now faces 23 total cases of misconduct.
Needless to say, with all this happening, future looks grim for Deshaun. In that case, the Browns will need someone to replace him and in addition to that, what will happen to Baker Mayfield is still a mystery. Reflecting on all this, Browns DE Myles Garrett had a few things to say.
He claimed that he doesn’t want to play the judge on what’s going on with Deshaun. “I don’t know what happened,” Garrett said as reported by ESPN. “You don’t know what happened. No one in this room really knows what happened, other than the people that were involved. I can’t move one way or another based on hearsay. So I just move with the character and the man I know from day to day. And that’s a good guy from what I’ve seen.”
Garrett further added that as far as Baker is concerned, he will eventually land on his feet. “People come and go, and this is one of those changes. I hope the best for him. I hope he moves on and he does well for himself. He’s played well when he’s healthy. When he’s healthy, he can do some pretty good things for a team. Just has to find his niche again. I think he has to prove himself, has to get healthy,” he added.
