The New York Jets are having an average start to their 2023-24 season. They won their match against the Buffalo Bills, however; they were handed a shambolic defeat against the Dallas Cowboys. The major setback that they suffered was the injury of Aaron Rodgers, who tore his Achilles in the first game. Rodgers is probably out of the entire season and the Jets are going to miss his service dearly.

The match against the Cowboys went in a different way than it was thought by the team management. Speaking explicitly on the match, Nathaniel Hackett, the offensive coordinator of the team, has now openly admitted that the Cowboys misunderstood the pace of Micah Parsons, who dominated the game against the Jets. Parsons clearly had the best of his games against the team and had a crucial role in changing the colors.

We even underestimated his speed on the quick game. He is spectacular, and somebody you have to look back and say, ‘Can you even do that?’ We looked back at the tape, corrected it, and saw how we can help ourselves out,” Hackett shared with the press this week ahead of the Jets’ Week 3 game against the New England Patriots.

It is now clear to everyone the impact Parsons had in the game. He had four tackles, two sacks, and forced a fumble. Parsons and the entire Cowboys squad had the numbers of the Jets so much that the latter were confined to only 10 points.

The Jets offense also played poorly in the game. The team completely gave up their running game and started relying on the backup quarterback Zach Wilson’s arm play, which also cost them a lot. Wilson was disappointing throughout the game.

Time is not going well for Nathaniel Hackett

Last year, Nathaniel Hackett was in the Denver Broncos squad. Under his coaching, the Broncos had one of the worst records in the franchise’s history. They won only five games and lost the other 12 games. The team almost tied their 4-12 record.

After the shambolic season, the Broncos sacked Hackett. He ended up being the offensive coordinator of the team due to Aaron Rodgers. But now, Rodgers is out for the entire season in just the first quarter of the campaign and the Jets are not able to perform as per the expectations and fans have started to ask questions about what is he doing in this squad. What job does he now have here?
