NBA legend Shaquille O’Neal comes to the defense of Rihanna for her Super Bowl halftime show, says haters to ‘shut the f**k up’

Super Bowl LVII played between the Kansas City Chiefs and the Philadelphia Eagles was among the best played and was watched by 113 million people worldwide. While the game had everything, one would expect of a Super Bowl matchup that it couldn’t attract more viewers than the halftime show. That’s right. The halftime show by pop icon Rihanna had around 118 million viewers as reported by Fox Sports.
This was Rihanna’s comeback performance after not performing live for several years. The performance was loved by the majority of the audience and people were shocked when they found out that RiRi was pregnant with her second child with rapper ASAP Rocky during her performance. This made the fans love and adore her more.
However, there were a few people who weren’t happy with the performance, namely former POTUS Donald Trump. He has been against Rihanna performing at the halftime show since the beginning and after the performance he said, “[it was] the single worst Halftime Show in Super Bowl history.” Even WWE legend Goldberg wasn’t in the majority and called the show “frickin’ horrible.”
Shaquille O’Neal wants the haters to shut up
With all the negativity and trolls coming in, NBA Icon Shaquille O’Neal came to Rihanna’s support on The Big Podcast. Shaq said, “All you people disrespecting my Rihanna, shut your face. Shut it up. I was there – it was beautiful. She did a great job. I didn’t know she was pregnant until she bust out, but leave this lady alone. You did a great job. I love you. All you people that got something to say: shut the f**k up.”
The 9x Grammy Award winner performed 12 of her best songs in the 13 minutes performance. She mainly received backlash for her dance moves, half of which were due to her performance being in mid-air and for placing her hand near her crotch. Shaquille O’Neal wasn’t bothered by any of her moves and asked everyone to do the same. He said that we are living in a time where everyone has the freedom to do what they want and asked all the haters to keep their thoughts to themselves.
Shaq added that Rihanna did a wonderful job for performing the show all the while being pregnant. “All you superstars that’s disrespectful and causing beef, shut your face. Shut it up,” he said.
