“Need to hold them accountable when they are” Aaron Rodgers explains his ‘take’ on the criticism of Packers WRs
Aaron Rodgers
Aaron Rodgers took a different route at the Pat McAfee show. Instead of publicly criticizing his WRs, the Packers QB was praising the rookie WRs in the team.
Rodgers explained that as he gets older he needs to get into more of a coaching role, as he is experienced and can help the young players perform better.
The reigning NFL Super Bowl MVP stated that the players will get lots of love from the team but they have to be accountable when they need to be and they[young WRs] need to learn the ability to get serious when they need to perform.
Leaders always have different personalities, some go easy and nice to the young players, whereas others get serious and criticize the rookie players to teach them.
Aaron Rodgers also pointed out on the Pat McAfee show that Sammy Watkins and Randall Cobb are shining in practice and something new can be expected of them.
“Those young guys have really come along”: Aaron Rodgers praises his group of young WRs
The young group of WRs in the Packers are looking very promising. Romeo Doubs and Samori Toure have impressed Aaron Rodgers and the head coach of the Packers. The Packers also drafted Christian Watson this season to make up for the deficit of Davante Adams leaving.
“I will say those young guys have really come along. Now – we gotta get Samori a little bit more focused but he is very, very talented… Basically won his spot on the last game and I give him a lot of credit,” Rodgers said.
Samori Toure has impressed the Packers QB. He was the seventh-round draft pick from Nebraska. The rookie WR excelled in the final preseason game against the Chiefs catching six out of eight for 83 yards that helped the team win.
Rodgers also pointed out that Romeo Doubs and Christian Watson are humble kids and with that humility comes respect. They also have a clear desire to learn and get better every day.
Allen Lazard is the Packer’s No.1 WR this season and Samori Toure has made the 53-man roster, so accordingly future is looking bleak for Romeo Doubs and Christian Watson.
