When KJ Osborn signed with the New England Patriots, he knew they would not remain the Super Bowl contenders anymore. Instead, they are on a journey of rejuvenation after the departure of their head coach for 23 years, Bill Belichick

Given that, Osborn also didn’t know who was going to throw him the ball next season. And it’s quite usual in the free agency market for receivers to choose their team based on the leading quarterback.

However, Osborn took the risk, and seeing him talk about the Patriots’ anticipated moves in the offseason, he sure seemed satisfied with his decision.

It definitely went into the decision. I spoke to coach [Jerod] Mayo and [OC Alex Van Pelt] and things like that for the plan going forward ... But, I trust them that everything will take care of itself.
The newly-signed wide receiver told the reporters on Wednesday.

While the starting quarterback seems like a big question, the Patriots have veteran Jacoby Brissett, whom they signed this offseason on a one-year contract, and Bailey Zappe, who started six games under Belichick last season. They are likely to use the No. 3 overall pick to bet their odds on a rookie quarterback next season.

KJ Osborn’s plan to revitalize the Patriots

After four nominal seasons with the Minnesota Vikings, Osborn joined the wide receiver squad at New England in a one-year contract worth $4 million, which may also reach up to $6 million.

It’s no secret that the Patriots finished last season as the worst-scoring offense of the decade, putting up a strong challenge for the newly signed wide receiver.

It doesn’t happen overnight. I know what I signed up for. It’s going to be a grind, man. I want to be a person that helps this organization get back to where it needs to be.
Said Osborn for his risky offseason decision

However, now that the team has changed almost the entire coaching staff, giving the head coach position to Jerod Mayo, there does seem hope for the team next season. Also, with Osborn’s experience and accomplishments, he can be a great offensive weapon for the Patriots next season.
